Heilung à la Bam Metz

Le 10 janvier dernier, Lili Refrain & Heilung étaient en concerts à la BAM de Metz. Retour en images sur cette soirée folk dont Marie est revenue sous le charme.

Notons que sur cette tournée, Heilung a pris l’engagement de planter un arbre pour chaque tickets vendus. Une bien belle initiative qui va dans le bon sens pour la planète.

Lili Refrain & Heilung, deux parcours folks originaux

Lili Refrain

Lili Refrain is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer based in Rome, Italy. Her solo project was founded in 2007. She uses electric guitar, vocals, percussions and synthesizers, overlapping them in real time through loop stations. The atmosphere she evokes cover a wide swath of sonic territory that combines minimalist, folk, psychedelic, blues, metal, lyrical opera textures, without using any computer or pre-recorded tracks. Her songs are embedded with ritualistic energies and her live performances are a haunting and cathartic experience that lead the listener through the maze of an unforgettable act beyond the boundaries of any genre.

Heilung

HEILUNG means “healing” in the German language and this also describes the core of the band’s sound. The listener is supposed to be left at ease and in a relaxed state after a magical musical journey that is at times turbulent.
HEILUNG reaches far back in time to the Northern European iron age and Viking period to create their sound experience. The band utilises many means – from running water via human bones, reconstructed swords and shields up to ancient frame drums as well as bronze rings – in their songs. HEILUNG’s lyrics contain original texts from rune stones, preserved spear shafts, amulets, and other ancient artifacts. Furthermore the band uses poems, which either deal with historical events or are translations and interpretations of the original texts.
Any attempt to link the band with or bring their music into a modern political or religious context is pointless, since HEILUNG try to connect their listeners with a time before the coming of Christianity and modern political ideologies.
